Central Green Balancing Pond

Posted on March 24, 2021March 25, 2021 by admin

Dear Members

We have been pushing several issues on landscaping and one of those is the Central Green including why there is no balance pond. The Consortium wants to change the use of this area for the balance pond and have requested our feedback before they submit it to the local planning authority.

Having looked at the revised drawing on the landscaping front we intend to respond by.

Requesting that the WF2 and WF3 remain around the base of the area and replace the current bulrush planting with Phalaris Arundinacea which grows especially well where the water-table fluctuates widely.

WF2 - Emorsgate EM8 Wetlands Mix, Ideally suited for seasonally wet soils that may flood for short periods in winter but are usually well drained in summer.

WF3 - Emorsgate EP1, Ideally suited for wet margins at the edges of ponds, streams and ditches.

Requesting for Health and Safety knee-high fencing around the top of the swales adjacent to the bridge and extensions to the barriers on the opposite side at Water Lily Way and path to Coppice Road. Appropriate signage to point out the dangers of the areas

Please provide feedback either here or via wdranorthbrook@gmail.com by no later than 28th March
