Traffic Regulation Order

Posted on March 9, 2021March 9, 2021 by admin

Dear Members

Thanks to our extensive network (in this case our local councillor Sean McDonald) we have learned about WSCC intent to use a TRO for the proposed bus gate along a section of Tasman Way.

The notice being proposed gives the full detailsNOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council proposes to make a permanent Traffic regulation Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except buses and pedal cycles from driving on a new length of Tasman Way in Worthing, from a point 30 metres east of its junction with Public Footpath 3114, eastwards for a distance of 15 metres.

This will have the effect of introducing a ‘bus gate’ that will prohibit vehicles other than buses using Tasman Way to access the West Durrington property development. Any comments or objections about the proposal must be received before 18 March 2021.

These may be submitted via the response form on the website mentioned above, by email to tro.team@westsussex.gov.uk or in writing to TRO Team, West Sussex County Council, The Grange, Tower Street, Chichester, PO19 1RH. For legal reasons, only correspondence including a full name and address will be considered.

Please quote reference WOR9015-MM in all correspondence. This is your chance to have a say here .

We will try an obtain more details from WSCC about the route itself and particularly location of bus stops. There is obviously one where the bus gate is located but we are unsure where others may be located. Please feel free to submit your own comments or you can send to us and we will incorporate into any feedback we send inNWDRA Committee
